Why did you choose Secrets Playa Mujeres for your destination wedding? What were the deciding factors?
The beach was beautiful and HUGE, the resort was north of Cancun and they usually have less seaweed, lots of restaurants, pools and bars. You could also go to the neighboring resort and eat or hangout there. Obviously it had great wedding ceremony and reception options. Higher end hotel but still affordable.
What was your most memorable moment during your destination wedding?
Having everybody all together and hanging before the wedding was such a cool experience. It was like a week of celebration rather than a few hours . Also we had a mariachi band at the wedding and that was amazing!!!
What was your experience working with Kerri and Sunlover Travel?
Kerri is literally the best. She helped with absolutely everything and made my life so much easier. From helping me find options for resorts, weighing costs, determining wedding options, putting together an amazing app and answering any questions I or my guests had. I could not have done it without her!!!
What would you do differently? What advice would you give to other couples who are considering a destination wedding?
There isn’t a whole lot I would do differently. If you are weighing the option of having a ton of guests vs a small amount, I’d say go for small even though you are there for awhile it would still be hard to split time and entertain everyone with a ton of guests. we had 30 and I still wish I could have spent more time with some!
I will say my one concerning comment to a future bride for a wedding in Mexico would be if they want to be involved step by step in the process and see everything before the day It might not be the best option. They are very laid back in Mexico and I didn’t talk to my wedding planning very often. So it was very scary/stressful at first and I just had to let go and realize they do this everyday. That being said everything turned out perfect and was as beautiful as I imagined!!!
What was the best part about having a destination wedding?
Spending time with the people we love in the place we love ❤️❤️❤️
